Default Fords 270kw AWD TTurbo Taurus

About 272kw and 475nm at 3500rpm. Not bad i think

Very nice. A nail in the Falcon coffin if it makes it's way here.

I was thinking the same thing but did not want to be the one to mention it.

If that came here with some subtle changes to suit the Aussie market I think it would be a winner.

The design looks very 'post FG' as well IMO.

Very ugly, with wheels that do not compliment the car in any way.

So the torque is obvously electronically limited - to have a 'curve' like that...

If the Aussie Falcon has to go eventually, Ford Oz could chuck an Aussie nose, tail, and interior on that mechanical package and be onto a winner!

With a flat line like that you'd have to say so. A minor software tweak should see another 100hp and 100lb without too much effort, and a proper curve as well.

it seems very mondeo like..

and i believe the new taurus shares the same undercarriage as mondeo which has a reputable handling and driving characteristics, add in awd system and you have one great car

I think you've confused that with a Camry, in this pic anyway.

The bonnet looks out of sync with the whole front end, the tail lights look almost like a Corolla, looks like Prodive have done it again.

AWD, Twin Turbo, with a few tweaks this would only get better and the launch from AWD you got to love that....

The new SHO gets a 365 HP, 350 lb-ft twin turbocharged V6, all-wheel-drive, a slick, rev-matching, gear-holding paddle-shifted automatic transmission and very subtle visual modifications.

Yeah, I'd quite happily trade the Territory on one of these if it ever made it here.

I think society has failed you at some point in your life and for that I'm truly sorry, even though I had no involvement.

As for your failing eyesight well that's your own fault you haven't seen an Opto sooner.

Look at the headlights and from their the basic shape including door handles takes you thier, you're obviously concentrating on the grille, don't tell me you're not coz I know you'd be lying.

AI doubt I will want one , it drives to many wheels , it's heavy and will be much more expensive then the falcon wagon I currently drive , with a flappy paddle auto ? and it's really ugly in a yank sorta ichey , now whats the base model like and do they supply a wagon.
nah I hate them which is why I wont buy certain EU cars with their oddball indicator stalks

I reckon you are pretty much looking at it. SVO = FPV, no?

Mind you, I quite like the concept, though I think it needs some tweaks to the TnA. FG didn't have enough to make me consider upgrading, but this could. Rex done right?

Actually it does, for RWD (longitudinal) layout (including 4x4), it's supposed to get 400hp/400lb-ft (300kw/540Nm), still retaining the 3.5 V6 engine, and no turbo lag. But it's the EcoBoost technology that's impressive, it could be applied to any engine, including the 4.0 inline six. Supposed to be 23mpg in the F150, and no sacrifice in towing ability. If you look at the torque curve on the Taurus, you can tell that it has been limited in output, because the torque curve is perfectly flat from under 2000rpm. The powertrain in the Taurus probably can't take any more than what it has without too much stress.
