Asking a bit much IMHO. Although new etc; getting one from a low km wrecked escape/tribute could be a LOT cheaper. Not sure if this has VCT or not.
If the latter, perhaps its a straight dropin to replace the 2.0L Also the ebay article says that its good for supercharging/turbo over the 2.0L; the 2.3L has weaker rods over the 2.0L and where the 2.3L can only take 7-8PSI stock safely, the 2.0 can handle 10-11PSI. |

Also probably doesn't come with an ecu, and if it did would be tuned differently to a Focus.
Would be interesting to find what a wrecker would charge for a Mazda SP23 engine. Was probably for a Caterham type project...Backed out because it was all too hard with an escape engine?????????

If you tried to put the Mazda SP23 engine and its ECU into the LS; the ECU wouldn't match the igntion barrel/key transponder/BEM?. You'd need their ecu as well and possibly the engine loom to be able to control the VCT. |

If your looking to mod this engine, Mazda SP23 and Focus 2.3L USA have some different engine parts.
