Default RUNS 14's

:sm_headba hey everyone..

Was out at WSID tonight.. with the intentions to run a 14.9999 lol

was running 15.0's at 93mph, just wasnt happening and the mph was yelling that theres a 14 there... and one of my mates suggested to take out the pod filter and give that ago.... :

took the pod off and pulled out a fairly decent 14.916@92.24mph!!!!
not bad for an AU XR6 thats only got a Cat/Catback exhaust system :hihi:
oh yeah my reaction time was .048 and my 60ft was 2.10
:baby bott my car is freak!!!! but ive also been told its the driver lol ;)

finally got there, tried to back it up but my clutch started slipping...

Thanks,
Matt

Thats bloody impressive mate, well done Whack a cam and a set of extractors in her and she should pull a low-mid 14 the way the car is going

Waz ive already got a Heavy Duty clutch, its a mix between a ceramic/organic..
Cushion Extreme (i think?)
but getting it off the line at around 4000rpm with clutch slip vs wheelspin is bound to take a toll on any clutch..
I went for a more organic clutch on purpose to sort of dampen the stress on the driveline, so like if the gearbox is about to munch itself because of the strain, the clutch would slip instead.. and hopefully save my gearbox..

thanks Dave, and the pod is a $30 job from supercheap lol..

Top ET. Its the MPH that phases me. 92+mph usualy requires 150+rwkw.

some pretty quick times being run by those stock AU XR's!

well at the dyno day it ran 136.7 rwkw.. (and ive been told its a hard dyno)..which seems a fair bit for an I6 with just a cat/catback exhaust.. that phases me!
i might go down to Intune and get a run on their happy dyno just so i can have over 140rwkw LOL

I'd be pulling the rocker cover off and hooking a dial guage up

You wouldnt be saying that I have an aftermarket cam would you?? :

Explain this then.. WHY would the Female owner before me, put in an aftermarket cam, WITHOUT any intake or exhaust mods?
the lady was selling it because the manual was too much for her.. and shes had it since brand new..

I even asked her if shes has anything done to it, and all she said was a set of tyres since new.. she did 68,000k's on 2 pairs of tyres.... she was a real hoon not.. she putted the car.. she sh#t herself when i took it for a drive and went over 3500rpm..

so as far as im concerned, the engine is STOCK, its just a very healty engine and i can bloody drive it!, all ive done to it is in my signature, and whats already been said.. im just lucky i got a good car..

For sure, knowing the cars history now i'd say the chance of an aftermarket cam is VERY SLIM.

I wasn't sure how you came to have the car, i know people who have baught cars they assume are stock where as they actualy have a very mild cam installed.

Top time there from a very healthy engine.
