Default XR8 under "Ford Passenger Cars"

Under "Ford Passenger Cars" we have:

Performance - FPV - 6's & 8's
XR6T and Typhoon - 6's

Why don't we have a special area for the die hard XR8 fans?

Thats what this area is for I believe, probably not enough demand for a sub forum on its own.

I would think that there would be more XR8's than Typhoons out on the road!

Aussie Bloke

At this stage their isnt the demand for a seperate area, but if the die hards grow enough it may be an option in the future

M14a-McLaren is right in his direction

Could be, I don't know but the Typhoon and XR6T probably bring in more talk and interest.

I'm glad you asked the question, I've been wondering the same thing since I joined. Feeling a bit left out ! :

But there is plenty of talk on the XR8s in other subforums as well ... kinda gets confusing at times ... as there is the Falcons thread ... then AUFalcon as well as the multitude of other sections as well ... also the deleted link section as well. Then there's a performance section as well ... and the different XR club sections to post in as well. Even the Utes section for all of XR models as well.

There's plenty of sections to post in already on here as it is ... adding another section will just double up on more posts ... as some people like to double post in different sections.

I know I have on the odd occasion (yes guilty as charged)

I noticed the XR6 N/A also has no specific section. Maybe an "XR8 and XR6" section - joining forces to get the numbers up?

FPV I6's and XR6

We have a XR6T & Typhoon Forum, why not just make a Boss powered forum instead of the FPV one?

I agree with FPV8U as this would be less confusing and just 2 areas to post.

Exactly! Even more reason to have a dedicated sub forum for the 8's

The "American Fords" sub forum only has 4 posts. I reckon the XR8 forum would be a bit more popular than that.

Historicly it was FPV (all BOSS 290s), XR6T, (all rabid zealots ) and OTHERS then FPV buggered it all up by releasing 2 T6 models. There is a lot of crossover.
Pursuits, Tornados & SPs all qualify for FPV & esky.
The above plus GT, GT-P & Typhoon qualify for FPV
both F6 models qualify for 6T&F6

Now add the confusion of XR, XR6T & XR8 sedans & utes what do you do?
Have 50 different subforums?
Allow XR6N/A postings in FPV and have threads about manual window winders and banjo diffs? Someone will bite over that I and certain....

Whatever is done someone will not be happy.

e.g. should a problem regarding the ICC in a new Tornado go in FPV (it is a FPV), F6 (it is one of them too), esky (ah so that is why there are no back seats) or I & E tech (where it will not be read by half of the userbase.....

Good luck guys.....

I can see what you are getting at, but I think you may be complicating the issue somewhat. Quite simply, all we need is an XR (BA & BF) sub forum under performance.

Or add the BA-BF XR in with FPV, considering the motors and drive trains are near the same.

Arrr go get some ethonol in ya. LOL. I know what your up to....

Back on subject. Even the E series XR's get to share the same section with the rest of the Tickford models.... Just because the BA XR was assembled by ford, dosn't make it a lesser performance car... An XR is an XR whether Tickford made it or Ford... And as you know Both the 260 and 290 engines are made at FPV.

About time someone pointed this fact out.So it becomes quite easy, just put the XR8's in the FPV forum.

I think this is the most logical solution as we already have the XR6T grouped with the FPV Sixes. So yes, I reckon BA/BF XR8 Boss 260 should be grouped with BA/BF GT/GT-P Boss 290.

I was just re-reading this post and noticed the misconception that XR8s should be in the Falcon forum! Barra engine and standard everything V FPV Boss engine and modified everything. The only thing they have in common is the "Falcon" name. The BA/BF XR8 has proved to be very popular and demand for it's own sub-forum is certainly warranted.

True, but then all sunroofs are done at FPV so maybe any fairmont fitted with one should be in the FPV forum also.........

Oh dear. Here we go again. Boss engine V Barra engine... simple as that.

Using your logic, let's have a forum for all cars that have tyres. I see you drive a Typhoon... let's scrap your sub forum and group you under standard Falcons then too. Bit of a difference hey?
