You should be able to pickup a cluster around $200 second hand, rember you need to change your kms either at vdo or by soldering in your old chip. Wiring it is fairly easy think from memory 3-4 wires need to be moved thats it, much easier if you can get xr loom.

not all au1 has black.

my cluster is au1, and it all plugs up, just the OPS does not work, radiator symbol is where traction should be on the au2, and same with the demistor is abs warning light.

speedo, tacho, fuel, and temp all work fine.

v6corp, will hold out for you till the end of the week, if i dont hear from you, ill leave it open for the others

Yes you can but it has to be done carefully. bottom clips first then top ones. release all gradually and work it. I had to replace the LCD light globe a couple years ago and found out the right way to do it after I broke it trying to get the cluster out. Now I know how it come out. new clear covers are around $27.

go to this link -: http://www.aufalcon.com/aufalcon.htm

then select "workshop" and scroll down and you will see an article that explains step by step the removal of the cluster. Once out you will see how easy it is to get the plastic off. Just be slow and gentle and the botttom of the cluster just wedges in so it sometimes helps to get a thin blunt bladed knife or instrument and slide under the cluster just to break the seal. gentle to a dgree is the key.
