Default *Serious* E-Series Club Question.

Now that I got you here... what club do I fall into now?

After some deep thoughts about what I was gonna do with my car sell/keep it, it was finally decided that I'd purchase an AU motor and fit that and keep my car for a few more years. Without the help of a forum member (I owe ya big time) and my mates, it would have never happened so thanks to those guys.

Still haven't cranked it over yet because I have to purchase few things but hopefully Monday will see her fire up. One quick question I need to get the vacuum switch and connect the hose for the BBM and also run a wire to the ECU (EL ECU installed) for the runners to switch properly (can anyone please confirm this, and tell me what wire I need to add to what pin??). For the time being I'll be using the EB ECU, then I'll add the rest.

I'll add some more pics too once it's all together.

Peace.

Well done mate, I haven't started mine either but I know they're a good tough motor. I figured the results would be much the same as spending top dollar rebuilding/strenghtening an E series six, so it's a logical upgrade.

Just remember to earth the runner switch through the ECU. ECU doesn't power anything. That one stumped me for ages.

Thanks! Can't wait till she's up and running.

Yeh the sump was ground, and the bar was tapped foward just a touch with a sledge hammer (slightest tap required). Motor set me back $400 for a complete one, and the 'extractors' are the factory Ford item, they have just been painted black.

Racecraft and Psycho Chicken, thanks for the extra info. I'll post some pics up of the sump and stuff later on tonight.

do you have head gasket problems with an au motor,
and also ive seen an au motor, with a red rocker cover, with tickford wings stamped on, and a transmission for $450 at a wrecker, already out the car ready to sell, would that be an xr6 engine, cos if it is thats the bargain of a century!!

No head gasket problems with the AU motors as I believe they were a steal gasket. Is anyone selling an AU alternator and ISC? Any help appreciated.

Thanks.
