e, the car has 210,000 kms on the dial. I really dont drive the car that hard, it just seems that 400 km to a tank is a little unusual or i might be complaining too much..

Arounds 600kms out of a full tank (been a while since that happened!) or 10L/100kms filling it up to get to work and back a few times a week. All around town, with the odd drive on the freeway (not that the Monash counts as anything but "heavy traffic").

Car's a EB1 Fairmont with a 297,000km old MPFI 3.9 that's just getting a little tired... Doesn't (really) use oil though, besides a slight leak.

Edit: My economy differs greatly with the fuel I use. Here's some examples, all down exactly the same road with similar traffic conditions and similar throttle applications. Obviously it's not 100% accurate, but it's as close as I could get it.

Shell 91 Octane - 12L/100kms
Shell 95 Octane - 10L/100kms
Shell 98 Octane - 10L/100kms
Mobile 98 Octane - 12L/100kms
United 98 Boost - ??L/100kms (fouled plugs, had to put Shell 95 in it to run properly)
United 91 Octane - 20L/100kms (never going there again)

I'm sticking with the Shell 95 Octane brew or 91 if I'm especially poor, but keep in mind this is probably because I'm running a fair bit of ignition timing. It pings lightly under full load on anything under 95 octane.

my car is on LPG...does that count?:P
It costs me aprox $35-$40 to fill up the gas tank, and it will get me around 400km city (not being gentle)...and around 450-500km HWY (again, not being gentle--100-170)
I dont use the car on fuel much...maybe drive it for 10mins a week just to keep the head lubed up

BTW:
My car is a 96 EF ex cab. Doesnt use any oil and has 584,000km on clock.
