Quick check of the subject has not bought any discussion, but the new member introductions seem to be all over the place eg: bar , pub , series forums, etc
To keep them all together and out of other forums, would an intoduction lounge or the likes on the home page with general guide lines for content, be of any use to the forums. Cheers Kevin

Hi Kevin
There really hasnt been a huge demand, however as you say there has been heaps of late. They really should be just posted in the Bar! Might be time to move them there.

I'm for that.
When I joined I just went where I saw others going and then realised later that the pub is for general Automotive chat. Cheers Laminge, from a fellow Ex-XR Club of Vic commitee member.

I reckon a fixed "Hi, I'm new" thread would be a great idea. I am getting a little worn on the whole 750 odd "Yeah Welcome mate" replies!
I reckon a sticky where only the newbie can post up until say 5 thread counts, if they don't get in before, too bad. If someone needs to ask a dumb question, send a PM. Not sure about this idea, but I am a Newb e :

As a n00b, I think it's a great idea.
I looked around, and said 'HI' to those that didn't/don't, and those that already did, know me before posting in The Pub. (sorry, me bad...) I posted there coz there seemed to be a few others that had done so before me, so I just assumed it was the done thing. Anyway, a 'New Member Intro's' section might stop that confusion. Just my opinion. Ohh, and as a member of 2 other car-related forums (not other Ford ones...), I think it's a fantastic site. Well done guys and girls!! |

A single thread has more merit at this stage
I will grab one and make it a sticky shortly
