Question Anyone know of mechanics in bairndale VIC

Mate down that way needs his eb s-pak looked at.

Was wondering if anyone can recommend a mechanics place that could fix a shocking fuel economy problem. Car runs, just is drinking fuel at double normal rate. Guess an analyser machine would be needed and he doesnt know anyone in bairnsdale who does this sort of stuff. He lives in omeo and would have to travel down there ( $$$ ) just to even check out who is who down there.

Any info would be appreciated, thx

I used to have such a problem, the first thing to check is whether the car is warming up properly. On start-up, the car is programmed to run rich like a choke. If it doesn't warm up fully (due to a faulty thermostat, oxygen sensor etc) it will continue to run rich all day long.

Not sure if Roy Swan is still in the bairnsdale area. He used to tune my XR-1 and a mates Hydro race boat. Great mechanic who has a lot of stories from his days as an apprentice with the HDT race team in the late 70's.
