My folks have an EL Futura Sapphire

It has metallic paint, duel airbags, ABS, alloys, pinstrips, cruise, and velour seats. I know the Sapphires come in GLi and Futura format, what the GLi has i'm not too sure of. They only came in certain colors too from memory, the folks is Galaxy Blue, seen them in White and Silver.

ive got an EL Futura Sapphire in silver real name(alaskin frost), i bought it about 4 months ago, it was totally stock with only 95000km on the clock and it has an original manual gearbox which is rare in a Sapphire, its got driver and passenger air bags, rear spoiler, dark tint, front power windows, is in immaculent condition and i paid $7100 for it.
its a beautiful car and i have replaced the sapphire alloys with the EL XR rims which look nice on a silver EL, just need to lower it and put an exaust.

Sapphire was an addon pack which was available to Gli's and Futuras in both EF and EL ranges. As has been said it had metallic paint, "sapphire" badging, possibly cruise control and a couple of other things.

Power windows was not part of the Sapphire option - a friend of mine has a factory manual EL Gli Sapphire and it does not have them.

Yep I know, what i meant was that you couldnt get them on a Gli even if it was a Sapphire.

Default EL Sapphire

I paid $10000 flat for my GLi Sappire late last year. Regency Red with the 15" alloys, front power windows, cruise, pin stripe, and different seats to the standard GLi somehow.
With 99000 on the clock and full service history I've never had any grief.

What's wrong with the pin stripe?

Had a Futura Sapphire wagon back in 98 in white, looked decent for a wagon in its day, still looks better than an AU wagon too

I was under the impression that Sapphires were EL updates, a few extra marketing ploys to sell the last of the EL's

Were there any differences between the Sapphires and the Classics?
