I have an EL tickford GHIA and its the best car ive ever owned... but as its getting on in years (97 model with 117K kms) it has developed two minor problems....
firstly whenever i go around tight corners like in a carpark, what sounds like the diff squeaks as i go around ... it sort of sounds like the brakes on a bike... Has anyone else had this ??? what was the problem and how much did it cost you to fix?? the LSD still seems pretty tight though... secondly... the backlight on the trip computer has gone out, i know itll probably be a simple globe change but is it easy ??? how do you get it out??? (without using an axe!!!) Any help offered will be rewarded with a great big thank you and maybe a beer if your ever in wollongong..!!!

To get to the trip computer you have to
1) Remove the ashtray, then undo the screw that holds the dash pad fascia on (there are 2 screws either side of the ash tray) 2) Remove the screws that go up into the dash pad facia (up the top of the instrument cluster glass) There are 3 3) Remove the 2 screws either sdie of the steering column that are also holding the facia on. 4) the dash pad facia should just pull off then, and you can get to the trip computer The bulb may have fallen out, if it needs replacing they arent pricey. I regard to your diff problem , my AU2 XR had a similar problem. Whenever making turns at low speeds i would get all sorts od noises from the diff. Just last week i changed the diff oil with Penrite SYN Gear 80/140 and the diff is now silent like the day it left the factory. So if I were you , the first thing i would do is change the oil - it cam make a massive difference.
