Question Are there any Cannon Powershot A610 camera owners??

I am thinking of purchasing this digital camera next week and have read a couple of good reviews on it. So if any ff members have this camera, could you tell me what the power consumption/battery life is like? Also what is the video/audio quality like? The price i have been quoted is $400 even.

dont have that model, i got the ixus 750, but used to sell cameras for years, and i always loved the canons or nikons. A Canon 5mp 4x optical for $400, looking on shopbot that price is pretty good.
Video quality, specs say 640x480 15fps, thats ok res but low frame rate, but it does do 320x240 @ 30fps, which is pretty much VCD quality.
Canon website has this for battery comsumption
Quote:
LCD ON:
Approx. 500 shots by AA NB-2AH NiMH batteries (CIPA standard)
Approx 350 shots by AA Alkaline batteries (Panasonic) (CIPA standard)

LCD OFF:
Approx. 1200 shots by AA NB-2AH NiMH batteries (Canon measuring standard)
but that stuff is never accurate always in 'ideal test conditions' :
Anyhow hope that helped you a little, although you prob knew all the stuff i said anywho :evil3:

In my hands right now i have a PowerShot Pro1 8mp (borrowing it off a mate until i get my 5D) Im pretty sure it would have the same battery setup in A610 as the PowershotPro1. It will last me 2 days of shooting no problems. The video quality is pretty reasonable from what ive played around with, wouldnt buy one purposely for video production though.
