I might be able to lend a hand. I don't have many tools either though. Do you have the spigot bearing, clutch spring (you can get away without the spring but the pedal will end up sitting ridiculously high), and the clevis/bushes for where the clutch cable hooks to the pedal box?

You'll need a different gear boot as the EA-ED style won't fit on EF. $450 sounds like a good price. My conversion cost $500, plus a paid an extra $50 for a manual ECU. I must warn you though, even though I did this conversion, efgiar did most of the work!

hang on a sec maby i didnt read it all but ED into a EF

correct me if wrong

you will need
gear boot $40 ebay
surround -
malwood pin as peddle box is different $85 posted mallwood
spigot bearing, repco $12
ecu for the bbm in manual -

but i may be wrong, but that is my opinion, doing a 5 speed convertion isnt hard, malwood pin makes life easy, takes me around 11 houres on my own, i think the worst part is taking off the starter motor

before putting it in its a good idea to cheek the clutch fork for any cracks as i put mine in and found it was cracked :( so it had to come down again, new clutch is a good idea as i did in the almost gone stock one i got in 2 weeks so my box went up 3 times in 2 weeks, take your time and cheek, cheek, fit, cheek, new cable is a good idea too.

would help you but im in SA but good luck getting me up before 12

As eb91xr6 says, it'll only be around $40. It's because EA-ED use different centre consoles to EF-EL

mal wood pin is the way to go. u dont need a boot straight away so just leave that for now but i really do recommend a mal wood pin, as dezza knows its the way to go or u can use allthread and bend your pedal box

Yes, definately don't go a dodgy homemade pin. You'll regret it later

Actually I've just found out that I may be having a dinner for my sister on that weekend as she is moving away from home, so I probably won't be at Melbourne for that weekend. Sorry about that. Any weekend after that should be fine

does the difference in the centre consoles mean im gonna need to modify my console or just get an EF/EL boot???? theres an XR boot on ebay for like $60-80 atm...what do people think?

or are there universal ones that will fit from like autobarn/supercheap etc?

or anyone got an XR boot they want to offload to me??: lol

You won't need the whole console, just the boot. The boot will clip into the same holes that the auto selector surround clipped in

resistor trick??? that will work for smartlock, but not for the fact that your car has a coil pack, and an ed has a dizzy... you will need an ef ecu, or it wont start. Mind this tho, you can still use your auto ecu, and it will drive fine, but the revs will "hang" between gears.
