Default FG F6 Undercover Cop Cars

Just saw a yellow one pull over a car on parramatta road in strathfield. Did they order a new batch of them?

They've got a whole bunch of unmarked BA/BF GT's and F6's here in SA. Makes me not mind wanting to be an officer lol

Since police chases are usually called off if speeds get up around 160 kph, why do police anywhere need anything other than an XT, Commie, or Camry? There's an unmarked Suzuki Swift working the MI and it seems to be earning plenty of money for a much smaller outlay.

It's not about outright speed it's about accelleration. If they can out accellerate you every time you floor it, or corner, they'll catch you.

Is this Swift a black one, that inexplicably appears from no where about 300mm from the side of the car? If it is, he/she isn't going to last long when a victim swerves in fright.

Exactly right. You floor it - they hug your bumper - you see you can't lose them and give up quickly. The whole show rarely gets a chance to get to 160+ cos hopefully, you've realised it's pointless and pull over.

We apparently have an FG GT doing the rounds up here but I havent seen it myself, I have seen an FG XR6T Ute HWP car that hangs around Jugiong on the Hume Hwy though.

There's a blue FG F6 that I've seen on the M7 in Sydney. Kind of a waste really, it has very obvious strobes on either side of the number plate - dead give away.

I've noticed that all unmarked NSW HWP cars i've seen have LEDs around the rego plate..dead give away they stand out like dog balls, kind of defeats the purpose of undercover/stealth, you'd think they would just use rear parcel shelf lights? or hidden in the reverse lights like NZ coppers

Has anyone else noticed the batch of un-delivered XR6 Turbo cop cars for sale through various dealers on carsales in Melbourne ? They all sport police dashes, park sensors and twin batteries, and are advertised as having delivery km's only... wondered why Vic Police pulled the pin on that order ???

I saw 2 of them on carsales in dark blue about 3 months ago, they even had the police logo programmed into the HMI screen between the speedo and the tacho.

There was a thread about the brakes not being up to task.

When I was in Sydney 10 days ago, I was getting my F6 washed at Minchinbury at the same time they just finished washing a Police Blue FG F6, moments later a Police Red BF F6 turned up for a wash..
Officers sit and read the paper drink coffee while there car is being washed dried off and vacuumed.

Just goes to show, there is nothing special or exclusive about FPV ownership now. People get payed to drive them so how is owning one exclusive?

Least it will make buying them cheaper when the ex cop ones hit the auction.

That doesn't surprise me. Most NSW F6's are the ones handed over from APAC in 2007. After federal paid up for the F6's for APAC duties and they were handed over to NSW police who have had a ball with them. Most of them should be crossing auction yards in next 6 months as it's 2 years now.

Doubt NSW Police will go FG F6, XR6T should suit fine, but could be wrong...

I think they use F6's for the better brakes, retained value and associated better resale value.

NSW police canceled all their FG XR6T's coz they were underbraked. Apparently FPV are going to be adding Brembos to all NSW police issue XR6T's so maybe they bought F6's in the meantime. !
