Lets formulate the list of the highest mileage falcons as a testament to how durable these cars are. To be eligible, need to be still roadworthy and driveable without significant issues to report.
So add your name to the list, specific model type, mileage and photo of odometer if possible.. (please keep km in list of highest to lowest so may need to adjust lists as you add. Pre 1980s list 1. 2. 3. 4. XD-XF list 1. 2. 3. 4. E series 1. 2. 3. 4. AU-BF 1. 2. 3. 4. FG 1. 2. 3. 4. Performance/ collectible models (T series, GT, FPV, XR8 sprint etc) 1. 2. 3. 4. |

I had an XE Van that got to 830,000 km before being hit by a boom lift at a building site.
I have an XM that was a daily driver for 38 years. now on historic plates, would have gone about 400,000 miles in the last 50 years. There used to be an old painter in town who bought a new XP as a work car in 1965, he was still using it as his work car 47 years later. Unfortunately he died last year. his XP outlived him. Old Falcons never die, they just rust away |

Lovin the high mileage brigade.
I know a guy that has a ef falcon with 440000km. He has done a few things to maintain it but its stock. He bought it for under $1000 a few years back. he ran a mate in his vs model 185kw club sport hsv with 30000km that he bought new and hardly ever drove. Absolutely as new show car condition. The club sport just pipped the 440000km ef. it just pulled about one car length off the line to 60km/h but didn't pull anything after about 60km/h. Lol |

My stepdad's EF wagon was at ~670k - he used it as a workhorse in his painting business. He passed it onto one of his employees at the mileage above about four years ago and I haven't heard anything of it since, could very well still be going.

Most of my cabs reach 5-600000kms before I have to pension them off for being too old. A couple are still driving around the local area.

One of my mates had an AU Fairlane (VCT I6) ex hire car. Pretty sure his user name is xcabbi, though he's never posted on here. It had 1,070,000km last I saw a few years ago and still drove well. It had either the engine or the transmission (can't remember which he said) replaced once in its life, about mid way through.

Heard of a AU cab in Sydney going to 1,400,000 unopened... There was a reason cabbies loved them My old AU xcab (earlier pic) had 860k when I sold it and didnt use oil between 10k services....

My 3.9 CFI EA clocked up 400 000km and still had plenty to give when I parted it out.
My 93 EB SXR6 managed 270 000km before I wrote it off, was restored and drove like new. 2003 BA ute 220 000km still going strong.

Not a Falcon Hulk but our 05 Terri has 305,000 up and is still going strong as.
No visible oil leaks, dipstick level unchanged between services (every 10k), same tranny last serviced at 220k.

EF XR6 Wagon - clocked over 459459 today. Does 500-550 a week on a tank of fuel, serviced every 7,500 kms. It's getting a bit tired now and it doesn't really like the cold mornings - if I don't warm it up for a couple of minutes the engine gives a big puff of blue smoke and then she's good for the rest of the day .
Virtually everything mechanical (apart from the bottom end of the motor) has been repaired / upgraded over time but yes I should do the motor and touch up the paint in places!!

723,000kms on my fairlane matching numbers, so once again not a falcon. Mate of mine has a BF Lane with 818,000kms on matching numbers motors...
Useless question, to taxis have a limit on how many kms they can do before they have to come off the road as cabs?

1984/85 XF Ghia 6 Cyl EFI - 440xxx on original motor, was running fine however I pulled the head off the car and got it cleaned up, dropped a larger cam in and running a 2.5" exhaust with extractors. Weekend cruiser and it drives very well and still has power to boot.

I purchased my 2004 BA wagon (Ex QLD Taxi) in late 2011
It's been on the road in my name since April 2012... I've clocked up about 85,000kms in that time picking up my kids from their school each fortnight. That's a 476km round trip... Plus the usual mileage driving around and the daily work trip. It currently has slightly over 906,600km's Original motor, unsure about gearbox... Diff has had a noisy bearing since I purchased it. Best and most reliable car I've owned since my 200ci 3spd XY falcon 500 almost 20years ago |

I've had a few over the years.
AU3 XR6 manual ute, sold at 647k to my mate 2 years ago, now over 670k. AU Fairlane 590ish k AU Futura 580ish k Another AU Futura 470k with untouched BTR (external cooler fitted). All original engines but that's stating the obvious. |
