Default strange sound

Hey,

I've got this strange noise coming from somewhere it sound's like the front of the car, when I'm sitting at traffic lights or stopped after a bit of a drive, the car makes a moaning sound.

It's hard to describe the noise, it's like an old rusty fly screen door closing slowly i suppose. I can make the noise go away by putting it into neutral.

Is it the diff the transmission or something different??

I also get it when I'm turning left as well. But maybe the turning left is the power steering.

Thanks for any help.

Some times you can get a reverbrance when sitting in "D" through the exhaust manifold heatshield ... and you can get a vibration ... which does go away when shifting to "N" or "P".

Then again ... you might have a manual ... so shouldn't make a difference as revs shouldn't change when shifting to neutral when on the clutch.

It only just got a new full 2.5" exhaust put on it, before it didn't do this, now with the exhaust on it does.

Since I had my 2.5" put on the tip is rubbing against the bumper as it vibrates. Putting it into neutral fixes it.

I think it might be a shonky engine mount or similar I need to get under and have a good look. Let me know how you go.

check the rubber mounts on the exhaust, if one brakes or stretches, it can cause the exhaust to hit the body and vibrate, or just a shocking install of the exhaust system
