Default Dying Momo Steering wheel and the Satin clearing

G'day, I bought a Momo steering wheel off ebay and it is almost literally a bit rough around the edges.

The both red inserts have gone darker but the right hand side leather on the red has "sueded" up and it a little rough.

If I dye the leather and then satin clear it, will it become nice and smooth?

Anyhelp is very much appreciated
