Hi all,
Just fitted a single 40mm Dellorto to my escort 2litre this afternoon and I am having serious worries with the linkages/accelerator cable. I can't work out how to get the accelerator cable to go under the carb (as i've been told to do), to meet the linkages in the right direction! Is my cable too short? what am i missing!? If anyone out there has this upgrade, help me out please! Thank you, Lionel

i had a the same set up on my 1600. i did away with all the pully and made a stainless steel custom linkage. i made up a plate that came straight off the carby with the round knob that the cable goes on and then made another 1 that bolted onto the manifold with the existing bolt holes. it worked great and had no problems. if i can i will get a picture posted.

THOSE WHO OFFERED PHOTOS. PLEASE DO POST!!!!
Thanks for everything so far eh... Matt RS2000 - I couldn't get the link to work, could you please double check it and repost it? Thanks. Okay, so it sounds like there are a lot of ideas out there (there's obviously no agreed on 'one way' of doing this) so me and my bro have been doing a little improvising. We're getting there but if you do have photos I'd love to see them to get ideas. I need this completed by the end of the week, so I don't really have time (or the money) to wait for linkage kits/brackets to be shipped in from wherever... So any photos you have...go for it please! Also, did you guys have to have a fuel pressure regulator? I've read these dellortos can only handle about 3.5 psi fuel pressure, and I'm not running a fuel pressure regulator. It's running like a bag of and we think that the excess fuel pressure could be causing the issues (I am running a factory fuel pump...but its quite aged and possibly surging?). What would be your next move? And lastly - air filters? What did you guys have? Trumpet gauze? Filter socks? A good ramflo unit? I really don't want to cover up my shiny blue ram tubes, but I've got a temporary filter sock to alleviate the issue. Let me know. Thanks, you've helped heaps so far, keep the suggestions rolling in! Lionel
