Default AU1 Twin piston brakes

Hey i was reading one of the tech articles and it was saying that the AU series one came out with a premium twin piston front brake setup.

Anyone got this or heard of this?
What vehicle does it come from?
Can you put it on a standard falcon?
Any info would be appreciated thanks Joel

yeah would also like to hear about this one cos a brake upgrade would be very nice over the dodgy standard ones.

I had a AU1 XR8. The brakes werent as powerful as the other cars on the road at that time ,ie AU2 & 3, HSV's etc. But I still think they were ok for the car.

It was an option for AU2-3 XRs. But for Series 1, they were pretty much only on the T-Series. You can change to a S2 setup, or you can try and find a T1 Setup.

Cheers

You might want to ping an email to the seller named "MR-SPARES" on ebay. They were selling a PBR upgrade kit for AU's at about $750, front only. It came with twin piston pbr calipers painted in fashiobanle red and a set of larger slotted discs. 324mm or something, can't really remember the exact size. I think it also came with front braided lines and EBC pads.

forte through to Fairlane all got the carry over EL brakes.

Cheapest upgrade is slotted rotors all round with some decent pads (Bendix Advance or similar). 2 sets of RDAs with pads are around $400 delivered from onlineperformance on ebay.
Next stage is metal braided brake lines to give firm, consistent pedal feel. (around $100 a corner, I think)
Next stage is full upright, sway bar and hub conversion to AU2 (approx $1200 just for the front). Once done, you can run any standard brakes from AU2 right through to BA2 and territory brakes and discs (all but stock AU2 would be at additional cost).
