Default Radio Aerial probs

Have a problem with my car aerial. Only goes halfway up then doesn't come back down without fiddling around and pushing it down manually. There is power getting to it as I can hear the motor running when I turn radio on and off. Went to auto electrician today and he said aerial is stuffed and new one is worth $180.00 plus I'll need to sort the 'Ford body control modual' which he says is probably another couple of hundred bucks and has to be programmed by Ford. Is this correct? Might take it to Ford service and get another opinion. Can the the aerial cost $400+ to replace? Seems pretty expensive. Anyone else have these probs? Thanks Davo

BCM? lol.. XR's don't need BCM to control the antenna because they don't have a half height switch so i think he's having you on. I added one to my forte and all it involved was wiring it into the radio loom for it to go up and down when the car is on/off and it goes down when you put a cd on too.
