Hi guys.
Just did a major service on the car today - oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs (Boshce 4 Platinum) and leads (Top gun 8.0mm). Now, I got stuck on two things that I need help with. 1 - I went to drop the bottom hose on the radiator and found that the hose clamp does not have a screw point on it. It is just completly round, so I can't even get a spanner on it... I'm thinking of just cutting it off and putting normal hose clamps on it. Is there a tool that I can get these off with? 2 - I went to replace the fuel filter and got stuck on that stupid clip - how do I go about getting it off? Cheers, Chaser

Can't help with 2, but I can with 1.
The hose clapms have a round cap over the screw things. Get a screwdriver under the cap and lift it off, or use a pair of vice grips to grab it and then pull it off. Then the clamps undo and do up just like any other clamp.

from ef onwards they used a push on type fitting. it has a little plastic clip on the fitting which needs to be pushed back into the fitting to unlock the clip inside. there is a tool availble for 20 bucks which makes the job easier, however i have got it managed to unclip the fitting by simple pushing the plastic clip in as hard as i could. alternative is using a precision screw driver and push that into the fitting to unlock.

With the fuel filter, get a set of pliers, squeeze the clip together hard, push up, then pull down, and the filter will pop off. Thats what happened with mine.
JC is right with the hose clamps, althought I cut mine off before having a closer look LOL. |

Instead of dropping the bottom hose, why not use the radiator drain plug? Its on the bottom of the drivers side tank and is accessed thru a hole in the bodywork using a 13mm socket.

some aftermarket replacement radiators dont have the drain plug, just to confuse the situation!
