Yeah that was the debarkle back in the early 90s. Im talking about whether the next Falcon will be the last Falcon.

That debarkle was spawned by a few idiotic journos who wanted to create something out of nothing. David Morgan made it so damn clear that the Taurus was never intended to take the Falcon's place.

go to toyota, hire their marketing and research team then fire yourselves.

I cant believe they keep hanging off crappy styling. its not going to get better if you change its name!!!

I drove a taurus in 2002 in the USA, great midsize car. Lots of room and had a fair chunk of power too. Was nowhere near as ugly as that thing they brought to OZ in the late 90's, looked more like a focus on steroids. They'll probably find a market here, although the mid size market has been fed a staple diet of camry and 626 so I'm guessing that the chinese and indians won't change, resulting in lower sales.

we're talking about this one right?

its just my opinion but it looks as interesting as an older camry with chrome. but i guess it is a mid priced conservative oldies car. I could just never understand why even the budget and mid range cars in the US are so boring.

Is it to make their performance cars look better by comparison? time to move up to the next level or they will always be behind. I guarantee the new camry will wip its ***, its also entered in the nascar series which helps, i was suprised to hear that.

But thats the thing, the 500 wasn't intended to replace the Taurus, its the next size up, and the Taurus and the 500 sold side by side for a few years until the Taurus was recently axed. But they will now call it the Taurus so go figure.

Amazingly the Taurus was once the highest selling passenger car in the US, for quite a number of years. How did they manage to screw it up so bad they eventually had to axe it?
