Default New GT40

Sometime back I remember reading that an organisation in Melbourne had purchased the last manufactured 5 or 6 GT40's from the USA and was converting them to right-hand drive to sell here. I've tried a search plus Google but can't find anything. Can anyone shed any light?

FFS, they are not GT 40s. They are the Ford GT.

They will be worth more if they are left as LHD.

Having personally seen the Veyron in Berlin in 2004 I can say that it def. is something different and in a league of it's own.

And the Veyron has what to do with buying an RHD Ford GT in Australia? :

If there was a replica up your way, chances are it would have been a DRB. There are basically two versions available in Australia, DRB and RF. The registration requirements are a little different in QLD, as you can still get one registered with a Windsor, where everywhere else this is no longer legal because the engines do not comply with Euro 3 emission regulations.

DRB is run by a bloke called Peter Ransom. I致e never had anything to do with him, however, the people that I know who have DRB, GT 40s speak quite highly of him.

Here痴 a link for DRB.

I had a brief conversation with the owner, and yes, it was a DRB. It was yellow and looked immaculate to me but the owner described it as being a bit messy as he does a lot of track work in it. He was with a group of half a dozen Cobras including a couple of 427's.

Default Ford GT vs GT40

Pedro

The car is a Ford GT as Full Noise mentioned. The last6 were purchased by Dreamtech in Melbourne. Here's the link http://www.autocult.com.au/BlogShow.aspx?id=11

They will be selling for about $500k AUS.

The 2 replica manufacturers in Australia are RF and DRB and they both are now concentrating on 4.6 and 5.4 Boss V8 versions of the GT40.
I am weeks away from registering my GT40 and I have a 302 Windsor V8 in mine.
ICV's can still be registered in Victoria till at least the end of this year with a 302 Windsor (if it is an RF car).

Cheers
