6 x 9s are crap anyway, as are any multi eliment speakers. As soon as you put a bit of bass through them they distort. You are best off getting splits and as said they make x 7 splits, but I don't think you can get 6x9 splits.

Incorrect . My AU series 1 AU wagon has 5" speakers . I know this because I returned the 4" units yesterday and had to swap them for 5" units which fit perfectly .
As for the front 6 - 6 1/2 inch units will fit with an adapter and a fair amount of mucking about .
I read elsewhere that you could get the windscreen piller moulds from ford with tweeter holes moulded in , from the upspecced AU for around $40 . I thought this was a bargain and indeed are a bargain . Well they would be if it wasn't for the fact that they are now an obsolete item . NOT GOOD ENOUGH FORD . How common is it for ford to discontinue parts after only 5 years .

Thanks for all the tips guys. I have installed MTX 5x7 in the rear and will do the fronts next weekend if I get the chance.

Sounds a lot better

The Ba pillers fit the AU, or atleast thats what people on here have said. I wouldn't have a clue, as I just make my own. Took a couple of hours and cost around $20 but I still need to sand them back a bit and cover them.

Um, found out today that they have discontinued them... Kenwood no longer make a speaker that suits a factory sized speaker that ranged from 1988 to 2003... :

Now i need to figure out what i'm going to do now... i dont want to do mods... i just want to drop some in and away i go.

Any suggestions for a moderate speaker that will sound good with an Amp?

Have a listen to 5 x 7 Eclipse speakers.

They were my original choice before going to 6 1/2 " Eclipses.

I can't really remember but I think the pair were somewhere around $300 ($340 rings a bell).

I got that price from Autobarn so a phonecall will give you a definite answer.

thanks for the heads up .
I ended up sticking them on top of the doors but I'd rather have them stealth .
I'll ring them tomorrow and see what they say .
