Question Info On Underbody Downforce

Can anyone point me in the right direction to learn more on how the underbody of a car can be made to create downforce?

read competition car downforce and competition car aerodynamics by simon mcbeath. Really great books with fairly simple explanations on how race car aerodynamics work and there is a great section devoted to ground effects and there is also some data and profiles that you can use in the book.

More of a hobbie atm. With plans to put it towards a 80's model Alfa Romeo GTV project.

Wing basics are flat bottom and a curved top create lift, the higher the air flow the greater the lift, after that you have reynolds numbers for curves and it gets complicated, then there is "ground effect", pressure, turbulence, the shape of your wheel centers and so on.

The funniest thing I have seen in Adelaide is a ricer with a large double spoiler that included equally large vertical "stabilizers" on the ends!
