I have a XB Coupe and intend to put the XR8 motor, dash, Ac, computers into it.

Damn mate, sounds like an awesome project!
Just out of curiosity though, (and I'm not trying to be smart) but if you need to ask how to remove the dash, is this really a project you should be attempting?

you undo all the bolts that hold it in and pull it out.....

4 big bolts that hold the dash to the firewall, they are right under the windscreen so you would need to dismantle the front partof the dash first to get to them - remove steering column, centre fascia etc.

Yes I know what Private 9 is saying. I have enlisted professional help to do the engine swap, but the wiring and computers are another story. I have not really met a lot of excitement to help when I mention keeping the EEC V system. Removing the dash is a mystery but in the grand scheme of things very small problem. Thanks for the help

doing an engine/ecu transplant is not a job I'd be willing to help with either, You'll find it a much easier job going with an aftermarket ECU/loom

My plan is to remove the complete wiring loom, dash, speedo, switches, steering wheel etc from the XR8 and transplant in XB. The XB stuff will all go to a good home. I just sold my XAGT to finance this project. Some say I am mad, maybe I am, but I am looking forward to the final result. Steve

Does sound like an awesome project, and the end result would be well worth it and by using factory looms and ECU would be legal too! Best of luck with it all mate!

Not the whole legality thing again, it must differ from state to state because I know of a few cars that have passed engineering with an aftermarket ECU.
