Default Mounting Head Unit - Double Din

Hey guys

EDIT: Forgot to mention 2002 Falcon SR AUIII

I have searched and couldnt find what i wanted to know.

I have a Jaycar DVD Player and a Flip Out Screen.. Each Single Din

I have the old head unit out.. Just cant work out how to mount up the new headunit and Screen.

I have installed quiet a few headunits and dvd players and such... and the way the AU ones are setup, I have never seen something simular.

So does anyone have any ideas and pictures please.

Thanks

you cannot put two seperate din units in an au. Although its a double din gap there is a metal brace accross the bottom half towards the back and this prevents u from doing what you wish..

Its possible to sit it in there but it will stick out too much an look horrible. Better off taking your items back and buying a fold out screen. Decent Pionner fold out units are going for under $900, thats ur best bet and buy a blank poket for the bottom din from ford under 20 bux

simple solution to any problem......cut and shut. of course, your console will be extremly unique, which is a good thing, but it depends if you have the time and patience to be playing around with trying to make them fit AND look good. best option IMO would be to go a single din unit and pocket, or a standard double din unit. as stated before, 2 single din units wont work, and if by chance you can get them to work, chances are its not going to look that good, untill i see a pic of a setup like it that does look good. just my opinion.

honestly mate just don't even bother attempting to make it fit, as "au2sw' said, IF (and a big iff) it does fit its not gonna look good. Trust me i work in car audio and worked on many au's.. best option is a fold out screen and poket underneath
