Default The Killacycle

I got sent this again the other day, i dont know how old it is, but did a search here and nothing came up, so sorry if its a :

i am not a electric fan, but this is quick, and kinda interesting !

Electric drag bike, doing the 1/4 in 7.8sec.

http://www.nedra.com/

Quote:
Designed and constructed by engineer Bill Dube’ and the KillaCycle team; Steve Ciciora, Derek Barger, and Scot Colburn, the bike is the product of a marriage between state-of-the-art battery technology and old-fashioned “do-it-in-the-garage” workmanship. The bike is powered by 880, 2.3 amp-hr Lithium Ion cells made by A123 Systems. Each of these 70 gram, 3.4 volt cells is about the size of a roll of lifesavers, yet can put out over 150 amps! They are the most powerful Lithium Ion cells ever manufactured. The Zilla 2K-HV motor controller, made by Cafe’ Electric directs 374 volt, 1350 amp flow of electricity from the battery pack to the twin electric motors

Damn That is Quick

The best thing about Electric is that they has instance power ... No power lag like in every other motor.

Battery life may not be quite so spectacular....

0.92 minutes for 150A out of a 2.3AH battery... that is assuming it will deliver it's whole capacity, which it won't.

The guy who invented it, Bill Dube hurt himself while doing a burnout for a news story.

Certainly is a fine piece of machine indeed, though it needs some sort of sound.

Back in the pits, after congratulations etc. for the crowd, Jim Ludiker and I were standing next to the bike discussing the run, and a VERY attractive (and well-endowed) young woman came up to me and said 'That was a terrific run you made. Let me show you my tits.' She then pulled down her already plunging neckline, flashed us both, smiled, and then casually walked away. We were all speechless.I wonder what will happen if we get the bike in the 6's? :-)"

i dont think he realised how fast it would take off and he didnt have his foot on the rear brake thats why he hit the car.. still.. what a dumbass.. thats the kinda sh!t that gets people killed.. just like that aussie guy that decided to to a burnout show in the US in a top fuel funnycar and the road it was on was about 6 lanes wide.. but with no guard rails at all.. and i think he did kill someone, he went straight off the road into a crowd of people probably at about 100mph
