XR's dont have the loom required to just make it a plug and play job, you will need to make the looms up yourself and connect them up. Ive done it to my ute, its a 10 minute job once you have the right parts.
Ive also posted up the tutorial on aufalcon.com

This was one of the first mods i did to mine when i bought it.
Some of the xr models have the plug under the passenger seat. Its tucked under the carpet, this is where the loom for the rear console light connects too. I just made another loom that runs from it under the carpet and does the 2 lights under the dash. Wrapped the whole lot in black electrical tape and cabled tied it to the original loom. Cant even tell its not meant to be there. |

looked cool, but not practical for light, i since changed it and wired in Neons and IMO look a lot better, and produce more light. not as cool without the ford logo glowing blue, but now i can see in my footwells lol.

I did mine with blue neon’s in both foot wells. Took me an afternoon to do.
I wired mine in off the dome light (wire is behind the drivers a pillar cover) and I have a key light to wire in as well when I get around to it. This is all on a base model XL ute. I didn't use a relay as two neon’s don't draw many amps, but for anymore I would use a relay. The reason my install took an afternoon was the I wired mine up to the "cluster dimmer" switch on the headlight switch. Since I am soon going to change all the dash lights to LED's, I have wired the neon's up so that I can turn them on using that dimmer switch, since it was soon going to be obsolete Pics included Cheers

If you're going to go with LEDs, get them off ebay. I put blue LEDs off ebay in, the ones that have in inverted end so spread the light better. They certainly weren't $10++ each like the ones at autobarn etc, I bought enough LEDs to do parkers, indicators, rear bumper illumination and all interior lights (inc. festoons, shifter bulb, rear reading lights, front map lights, front doors, and footwells), and it was about $70 IIRC. I put ultra white ones in the roof/reading lights and blue in all the floor level lights. Also did the window switches and some dash switches in blue. It lights up like day, it's awesome compared to that yellow light you get from standard bulbs.
ebay user I bought off was called warden_jp2002 in case anyone's interested. I've bought a lot of stuff off him with no dramas. If anyone needs to know which bulbs to get let me know. |

The light in the tray under the ashtray in the centre console isn't standard, I spliced it in yesterday, running it off the auto shifter light so it's always on when the headlights are on. I like it. |

Is that what those plugs are for? I am forever getting them tangled up when vacuuming under the seats! So if I want to put that rear light on the back of the console, I just have to use that plug under the seat? Evan |
