My air bag llight has been flashing of late, 3 flashes then stops and repeats 5 times then the light stays on. I have had my mechanic put the scan tool on the car and it said "B1### (can't remember the number) Passenger Side Airbag Open Circuit" the thing is I have a ute without the passenger side airbag. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas.

there's a plug inside the dash on the passenger side behind where the airbag would be, if there isnt one fitted it has a blanking plug in there, it may have come loose and fallen out causing an open circuit.

i have had a similar problem with my airbag light there is a wire under the passenger seat that is hooked up to a sensor for the seat belts if the wire is pulled on by something that might be under your seat . It upsets the sensor by changing the resistance ever so slightly. Just move the wire a bit and make sure nothing is pulling on it, fixed my problem hope it helps

Yeah i have tried the plugs mentioned by Austin and blue SR, and neither of them worked. I was talking to Austin last night and said that my next door neigbour who is an ex ford machanic suggested the resistor in the blanking plug on the passenger side might be blown. If so is it possible to by a replacement from Ford.
