this is becoming a problem. I have been driving around to find 98 (any brand) for some time. I wonder what the issue is?

I am not to sure what the issue is, but when I asked the local BP when available, they mentioned the tankers are docked in the harbour waiting for release? what ever that means.

I have been finding 98 at Caltex, including today.

Maybe because V-Power isn't available, people have been buying other company's 98RON PULP. Maybe the demand is bigger than the supply.

No dramas in ACT at Caltex or Mobil, but no premium fuels at Shell or BP

bp premo is out all over the shire, but synergy 8000 (basically bp ultimate) is in full supply. i filled up with mobil 98 no probs at sans souci today at $145 p/l ( and people are whinging about paying $135 for 91

apparently newcastle and c/coast is also out of bp/shell 98 too.
smells a bit fishy if you ask me

there is a problem at the shell refinery so no 98 from there ATM so this puts a strain on supplies from caltex too

I asked at a BP service service station in Botany when ultimate will be available and was told they were expecting delivery on the 28th of March. They have been out of ultimate for almost 3 weeks, poor bloke has been getting abused daily due to reports in news papers stating premium was being locked off delibarately by service stations. Hold up was due to offshore influences. Quote.

BP had an ad in the Telegraph on saturday stating that they were having problems with the supply of premium fuel.

They even went as far as stating that they had been getting in supplies from overseas (probably Singapore) which could explain as to why some people on here have been reporting problems with fuel quality.

Amazing when they have said before that the quality of fuel from over there is inferior.

Are you all getting used to being screwed sideways by them yet.

All BP Ulitmate comes from the one refinery in WA, it is not the first time they have had a shortage.

I don't even bother going to Shell, haven't had much of a problem with Mobil or Caltex premium fuel availability in the Shire though.

I always get frustrated by BP being out of Ultimate. It all i ever try to run cause my car seems to love it.

Other day filled up with Vortex 98, they seem to have no issues.

Heard somewhere that the supply issue is genuine and nothing fishy is going on, but this came from the media so who knows ?
