Default Radiator Flush Problem

Ok so these are the steps im going to follow.

HOW TO CHANGE COOLANT AND FLUSH SYSTEM
By Daniel (AU2PWR)
Undo the Bottom Radiator Hose and let Water/Brown Stuff/Coolant Drain ,
Put the Hose Back On , And Add Rust Inhibitor and Water , Put on Radiator cap and Top Hose and Run for 30-40secs , Turn Car off and Wait 2 Minutes for hte Inhibitor to Settle , then On Again for 30 Seconds ,
Leave for another 2 Minutes , Remove Overflow Cap to Releive Pressure ,
Remove Top Overflow Hose and Bottom Radiator Hose and Let all Inhibitor and Water run out ,
Place some Strong Sticky tape over the Overflow Holes and Add 15mls of CLR to the Overflow and Fill with Water , And Let Sit for 5 Mins , then Drain it and Squirt with Hose , Brown stuff should be Loosend and Come Up clean ,
Put all Hoses Back on (if your Unsure , Mark with a WhiteTexta before Removing anything )
Use a Good Quality Coolant , I use the Nulon ASTM D 4985 Because its Long Life and is Recommended By Ford for General Use in the I6 Motors

Fill the System with ONLY Coolant , Grab 1 of these , $34.95 @ R&E Autos , and Put the Overflow Cap back on along all of the Hoses , make sure they are Tight
Start Car and Give it a Rev , If you see the coolant level drop dramatically (rare) remove Overflow cap and top up ,
Replace Cap , Start , Should be All Ok and thats It ,

ok so here is the problem. i located the radiator lower hose, but i cant et to it from the top since the 2 other radior hoses and the battery are in the way so i thought id give it a try from the bottom. I found that i cant get to it from the bootom due to a black peice of plastic cover the bottom, starting from the grill and ending just fast the radiator.

i tried to undo the bolts holding the plastic on but i cant get it off, any one got any ideas on ow i can take the radiator hose off, or any way i can get the plastic case of and if the plastic has any inportance other thens toping stuff from flying up under the engine bay.

A normal garden hose isn't enough to do the job, you need a flushing agent. DON'T go buying Rad Flush from a car place, as it can be expensive and not actually work. A cheaper, easier, more effective way to flush the system is to go and buy a bag (or 2) of Washing Soda from your local Supermarket. Its only a couple of $$$, and can be used about 4 times (based on a 500gram bag).

Heres the instructions on how to use:
*Drain radiator via the bottom hose (quickest and easiest)
*Mix about 125grams Washing Soda in a cup of Hot water, and dissolve it.
*Pour mixture into radiator/header tank.
*Fill rad with clean water. And bleed system.
(To bleed system, fill rad, start vehicle, let it get to normal running temperature, and top up radiator until full, too much Air in a rad is bad news.)
*Once bled, run vehicle like normal for a couple of days, drain rad again, and do it all over again until water comes out clean (don't forget to run the heater as well).
*Once clean, use a good Radiator Conditioner (aka Coolant), DON'T use long life coolant, as it has been proven that it causes failures in the radiator and other parts of the system. I suggest Tectaloy Conditioner, Or get yourself down to a Radiator Specialist who sells Natra or Adrad products.
*The amount of Conditioner varies from car to car, the E-Series takes about 15Litres to fill the system from dry, the Conditioner amount is calculated from this figure.

Any further questions please ask.
As posted in a good amount of other threads around the place...

Your problem is very simple, your using a tutorial writen by daniel!

FYI that black guard, to take it off there are 3/4 screws around the front, 2 either side on the back, and 1 in the middle right down the back (Behind the lip) that need to be undone. Maybe more, i'm thinking 2 go into the back of the front bar as well, but i'm not sure.

Cheers
