Default Differences between v8s?

Hi all,

I am currently looking at buying a 99 AU xls v8 ute and was wondering what the differences are between the xr8 motor and standard v8? Also does the xr get different diff ratios?

Sorry if this has been covered already.

Cheers
Matt

xr8's got extractors (well a better than the normal crush pipes) and better exhaust, as well as a larger cold air intake and a rounded ring in the airbox to improve flow, unless its a 200 or 220. xr8 got 3.45 diff ratio where as i think that ute should have 3.23's but i could be wrong. standard was 175kw and xr8 was 185.

I bought an au 99 xls ute 9 months ago . Has the same suspension /diff ratio as xr8 . Only difference is the dash and some peripheriphal things .Put extractors and twin 2.5 in exaust, sounds great goes suprisingly well im happy with my choice . is ist auto or manual , how much are they asking for it ?

Cheers will do.

Thanks for the info guys.

Its an auto, seams to go alright, done 130ks. Has had an xr8 front bar fitted and some wheels from a ba xr6. Have a pick below.

It belongs to a mate of mine, he will sell it to me for around 11 grand, but currently has it for sale for about 13.
