Hi,does any body know the procedure for removing rear disks on an au1 ute.
I have removed the caliper and grub screw but it still seems to be stuck . The handbrake cable has been disconected .I have removed the grommet and looked inside, is there a way of backing the handbrake off further through this hole ?I think the handbrake shoes have created a ridge does this sound right? |

They would be nice and tight on the handbrake shoes.
Give the rotor a few good smacks with a hammer, it will loosen them up, and then just pull them off by pulling at the rotor from each side. |

Would it be a good idea to leave a couple of wheel nuts on while pulling so it does come off in a hurry and hit you?

I have had a puller on it and it has bent the rotor out of shape ,I have hit it with a hammer at least 50, times that method dosent seem too be working!
what else could be causing this ? |

I wonder if it has rusted around the boss area on the axle and this is stopping it from coming off, perhaps a bit of heat applied to the rotor but keep the axle "boss" cold may help?
P.S don't forget the fuel tank resides near by and there are other ignitable products around also, so be careful with a naked flame |

It will be rusty around the axle flange and around the studs for sure.
Give it some hammering on the face of the rotor around the studs to loosen it up. They are a pain but the do come off. |
