But what if it had been on a conveyor belt operating in the opposite direction?

Would the Toureg have been able to pull it then :

: Well someone had to ask, I'm surprised it took this long.

Damn, You beat me too it!

So the VeeDub can pull a 747, but can it tow one on a conveyor?

Qantas has just upgraded by adding 20tonn ballest to current tugs to be compliant at all port on route. So I doubt the VW weights that much.

But in saying that, if it is slightly down hill & the aircraft is a shell only it could be possible, especially seeing that some TV shows have shown "strong men" pulling a plane. Or it has been photoshopped
im sure your then aware of rolling resistance instead of its weight then .dont just try and turn or stop ,its not made to do it but even a much lesser vehicle will tow it even at full weight .

I read recently that it was only able to travel like 15 metres (or 150 metres) before it hadto stop or else something was going to overheat.

I'll have to dig up where I read it (might have been Wheels).

Land Rover has done it before pulling a train of the same weight. Once you overcome the rolling resistance it's a cinch. I can push my 2 tonne Territory on a level surface - does that make me superman?
