Default Question about replacing shock mounts

Hi Iam about to replace the rear top shock mounts in the wifes XR8 III , and need to know the measurements of the washers (spacers) that people fit to help correct the problem of the moumt flogging out.
5mm thick x what diameter and what size hole in the centre and the best position to fit it, on top or underneath the mount? I need to get this sorted before I pull the car apart.

I didnt know you could fix the problem? I'm onto my 3rd set in my Ser 3 Xr8. I'm interested to know how to stop this?

I don't think it fixs the problem just prolongs the life of the mount, my understanding is the shock is not as tightly connected to the mount as it could be.This is my first go at replacing the mounts.

No surprise I'm posting this, must get on to that tutorial.....

The washer needs to be between 2-5mm thick and it goes under the big rubber coated washer that is already there. The centre hole needs to be able to go over the thread of the shocker and then a little with the hole being approx 10mm across and the washer being 25-30mm across.

Just to make sure it goes unnder the large washer that is held on the top of the shock by the retaining nut.

Yep.

I had only done about 10k in mine when I added the washers and I could actually feel the difference in the rear end. It makes the rear feel a lot more stable and flat with a lot less jitter.
