Default Cadillac bound for Australia

http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/Ar...6065&pg=2&vf=0

After almost 40 years the Cadillac brand will again be sold Down Under.

Cadillac will also offer more in the way of engine performance compared with similarly priced European rivals.

Interesting i thought.

Edit* just saw the date of the article, seems like it probably wont happen?

It's the love child of a prius and a merc!

I can see this being on TG Aus' segment of 'What were they thinking?' very soon (although I did miss the last ep, unintentionally).

It simply will not sell.......
Interesting that GM will not extend the importation of the Holden (Pontiac) beyond one model, yet they are going to foist that fugly piece of rubbish on the Aussie motorist.....
Reminds my of the fugly Torus/Cougar/Suburban etc.

The thing that concerns me really is that FOA will drop our falcon and give us the Torus AGAIN!

“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

I know it's off topic but how do you know this, going by all of the evidence it looks more and more like FoA don't actually know what they want, as for the Taurus, if it didn't sell the first time they sold it here, why would they think it would sell a second time,

lol When you go on American forums they think its the height of class.
And that the Falcon and Commodore/G8 are about 10 years out of date style wise.

I'm a member of a few American forums and when I posted up my BF F6 with engine and ZF specifications on some of them they were in awe. Some reckoned it was like a BMW and they were all jealous that we can buy such powerfull cars over here straight off the showroom floor. I even received accolades from the moderator of Shelby Forums.

Wait till I post up information and pics of the FG F6 I took delivery of today!

The new Cadillac cant compare to the old ones from the late 1980s back to the 1950s when you say cadillac it brings up images of huge cars leather chrome and huge engines not that ugly thing

the Cadillac STS is also RWD.
Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado are predominantly RWD

All the new Lincolns are FWD. But in reality? Nobody really cares, FWDs drive pretty nicely these days.

I looked at it for aged trying to gauge my own feelings for it.

I like the old Cadillacs with the stylised rocket wings and jet lights where the designers designed what they wanted without having to answer to 500 regulations and 600 market studies with all kinds of hopelessly detached people running them.

I think thats the main reason I don't like this. could be anything, stick an MG badge on it and wouldn't have made any difference.

The STS is a sedan, but the others...are you serious? I had no idea! I knew they were RWD, but didn't know what they looked like. Actually nothing in this thread said "sedan." I guess the Corvette and Camaro are not sedans either, so they don't count. The CTS Coupe - forget it. Just doesn't count! :-)

Comparing SUV's , trucks to sports sedans .. Yes I knew the STS is rwd I posted a clip with rear wheels spinning..
G.M have lost alot of sales going FWD in some models...
The Police don't like FWD one of the reason's the Crown Vic is used in most states in the past..

The Dodge Charger seems to be the car that cops love now - much better car than the out-dated Crown Vic, and a lot use Mustangs, and a lot use Tahoes, F150s - they seem to be driving a bit of everything these days. yeah ok, mostly RWD, but your post goes to show, when people make a fuss over RWD... it always comes down to burn-outs :-)

It's all right, I would have thought Camero would have been a higher priority for Australia than Cadiliac though.

Cant complain about more choice of cars.

I believe the small Caddilac, the BLS, is Saab based.
