Not 100% on it but I don't think an AU2 unit will work in an AU1

Youd need all the Hubs with sensors, wiring, and lines at least

Yes you can have ABS with a live axle and AU later models had the Tone ring on the front hubs as standard. All new Front hubs have the tone ring on them, You will need 4 sensors and I believe that what MYT said is true, AUII ABS Module won't work on AUI's.
Might be worth looking at the wreckers and seeing what they have to offer or maybe a smashed car auction? doesn't matter how much the body is broken as long as most of the mechanicals work |

I have a mechanic who would have done the final install and tuning... but let me do the brunt work to save myself some money...
The reason: I have had 3 incidents in a short time involving my brakes locking up under what i deemed "not overly stressful braking aka would scare the crap out of old people" but these cause me to lock up the brakes as mentioned... first time was oil related and due to a vehicle in front, had to use the gutter to stop me skidding. No incident was at speed above the limit, and all around town. This has caused me to start braking ALOT further up the road than what i am comfortable with... which slows down traffic. I am getting the brake disks skimmed with new pads fitted by said mechanic next wednesday morning... but thats only a temp fix... my wish list includes AUII/III/BA brake upgrade with slotted rotors, BA Calipers, AUII Master Cylinder, Braided lines, full brake fluid flush and refill aswell as ABS installed...
