I need some help...
I have been asked to use my Cobra for a weeding later in the year. Not someone I know, but a friend of a relative. First: I've been asked what will I charge for this?? travel from Syd to Wollongong. Do wedding trip, then photos then trip to reception then back to Sydney. I'm expecting to spend most of the day Also: They want 2nd Cobra if possible. If not, a white BF GT. Anyone willing if price is Ok. Thanks in advance for your help. |

i usually charge about 250-300 for a wedding as you have to factor in things like fuel, wear and tear of your car, your own labour time both in doing the job and cleaning the car before and after, tyres if you do a little show for them i would be charging that minimum especially if its in woolongong and you are in sydney
cheers nate

The only thing you need to be mindful of is that unless you are accredited, if caught it can end up expensive. More than what your getting paid anyway. |

If you're not really in it to make any money then I'd be happy with a tank of fuel, a feed and a bottle of your favourite. That's what my mate got from my sister when she used his car several years ago.
Maybe you could also ask for some professional shots of just the car by the wedding photographer while you're at it. A couple of hi-res ones that you could blow up would look good too.. Matty

Thanks for all the feedback Guys.
Like many of you have said, I would do for free if it was family or a tank of fuel for friends. I don't know these people personally, but they must be Ok if they want to use a Ford. That's why I'm trying to work out how much to cover giving up my day & prep time too. Cheers |

So I'd charge $80 per tank of fuel, and between $250 & $400 for "detailing" and go from there.

The bottom line JC is you are not accredited to perform these types of services. It might be the case that your doing it for mates or that's the excuse your using, but you haven't gone through the accreditation process and thats where the problem lies. Police checks have not been done, medical has not been performed, the condition is not on your licence, and most importantly, your not covered under your insurance. If you have an accident, your insurance company can void your insurance. You injure the occupants of the car, they are going to take you to court. No insurance, are you prepared to lose the lot for a tank of fuel and some detailing payment. People think it won't happen to them, but imagine being involved in accident, you write your brand new GT off. Insurance finds out from an internet forum that you have provided a service illegally, and your not insured to do so, will you get paid? Prepared to take the risk? Your choice.

The license and accreditation all was less than $200 but as I said it's the public liability that hurts. |

At formals time for schools here in the ACT and all the nice cars come out to play on a number of occasions ACT Police have been at these formals questioning the car owners and occupants if any payment of any kind has occurred in the transportation of people to the formals. Very much an issue with licensing and insurance.
Can't see a problem if your car was to feature in some professional photo shots on the day. Think long and hard before committing, you know Murphy's law right? Regards Joe |

I taxied once on a Friday night, made about 80 dollars... Hehe just don't get caught. I'd be more worried about the cabbies coming after you for fare stealing.
