Default gps navigation systems

has anyone had trouble with their gps.i have one that you can view photos etc.the other day i looked at some photos thru it and when i went back to do the navigation side of things it would not work.ive tried the reset button but still nothing.everything else works bar the navigation..also a friend watched a video on his and he also lost all navigation,,anyone out there can help.... :

Is it portable or built-in? If portable try removing the battery overnight. If built-in remove the constant battery power lead overnight. If that fails file it under R and go buy one from a reputable Aussie company.

if it has a sd card for additional ram etc photo`s and software is already in memory try doing the reset with out the sd card in the machine, if navigation loads up ok put the sd card in afterwards.
