Default Hail the Territory

I find the attitudes of some members interesting. Own Fords and B***h about everything Ford does. However in honour of the head of Ford marketing I raise my hat to you.
Dear Queer Elizabeth bumbling around in Range Rovers and FORD TERRITORIES

I haven't seen the footage, but were the Territories ASIO/security vehicles? I remember they used Territory turbos for security forces during the APEC summit. If so I doubt it has anything to do with marketing, when it comes to high profile security they obviously picked the most practical vehicle for the job.

When it comes to these events (rugby wc, queen visit and such) everything is put to tender, and that is great publicity for whoever gets it.

Haha when I saw them I couldn't believe it! Two turbo territories! But I agree with Adrenaline, I don't think it was a merketing choice. Theres a lot of unmarked police turbo terri's around Sydney which are perfect for the job

Half a chance the Range Rovers were imported from the UK from her personal escort fleet.

They would be the armoured version worth an absolute fortune.

URL Rover in Melb prepped the Range Rovers so .... while yes they were imported from the UK they were 'Australian' ones.

Ranger Rover and Jaguar have armoured options for the Vogue and XJ I believe, so they would presumably remove any Police/Royal Protection Squad specific equipment and Auction them off.

Does your Merc have a Supercharged V8 with 375kW in the case of the petrol or 230kW in the Diesel V8?

Who cares, the entire thing is bullet proof, and will survive a bomb attack. You could imobilise it, but not kill the passengers.

Not in the case of the All Blacks.....Ford have been, for a long time one of the major AB sponsors. All current All Blacks get a ford as a personal ride. The parade Vehicles were just an extension of that strong relationship.

I've noticed the CHOGM fleet in Wait Awhile is a motley of cars, but particularly scores of plain white Falcon XT's getting around in the motorcades (some with chaser rims, some without)

Good Marketing and FORD do not go in the same sentance... Certainly not recently thats for sure...

It would have been complete FLUKE that the territories were there, not good marketing or judgement...

Very true, its probably why the falcon isn't getting good sales... Almost seems like they aren't even trying to advertise - trying to kill it off so they can introduce the taurus. But this is for discussion somewhere else haha

ASIO security officers use them, every time you see Julia Gallah get out of the Caprice limo there will be 2 turbo Territorys behind or in front of it.

They would have been used solely to suit the job, Ford would have had nothing to do with it.
