Season 2 is very good, they do a new challenge every day, the cast work together really well and they don't try to blatantly rip off TGUK like TGAU did.

The US version is actually quite good come season 2, season 1 was ok but in season 2 it really starts to hit its straps!

I reckon TGUSA is awesome. Much better than TG aus. As good as TG UK IMO. I've watched every single episode of the 1st and 2nd seasons.

Just watched it...waaaaay better than TGA, looked like it was following a formula, but still being its own show.
The Viper is just rediculous...I love them, but no stability or traction control? In a car with 500 HP which weighs bigger all? That's just an accident waiting to happen...I wonder how many end up wrapped around trees.. . I do notice it's a bit more restrained with the double meaning jokes and crude stuff, but that's just to cater for the easily-shocked Yank audiences. Have a look at their glass-topped engine block table...I like the way they've used the pistons and rods as the table top support. That's be something I'd have in my living room...despite what the missus might say... |

Saw it last night for the first time as well.
Better than TG UK in my opinion...less opinion and more facts. Better photography as well. Let's face it the in / out / in focus as been done to death. Time for a refresh on that one. See how it goes from here. Peter. |

I notice they're falling into the same trap of looking like they're complaining when you can't get the tail out on a car of any sort, especially supercars designed to go around corners and not drift.
They do it overtly on Top Gear UK, doing everything they can to make the tail step out, when the things aren't made for that, and complaining bitterly when a car just digs in and flies around a curve like its on rails, very composed and not getting out of shape at all. I'm reminded of a poster I once saw many years back when drifiting was getting popular...it showed an overhead view of a corner, with a top view outline drawing of one car drifting in the corner with it's tyre lines marked out, and another one further ahead which has tyre lines showing it came from out wide, clipped the apex nicely, and smoothly took the corner. The caption said "You like drifiting? That's OK...while you're busy back there doing that, I'll be up ahead, busy accelerating..." |

I love it, the trio have a really good back a forth and though it does have its moments, the US version doesn't seem as heavily scripted as the UK Top Gear.

TG Aus was a fail IMO, the original is still going strong in most countries after a dozen+ seasons. I've watched all episodes of the US version and it definitely improves a little as you watch each show. For me I'd prefer to watch the US show now, probably because it's new and fresh but imo it does have an edge on the original. All three hosts work well together and as others have mentioned it doesn't feel as scripted. My only real negative is they copy a fair few of the challenges from the original. Waiting for season 3 to start on YouTube if it hasn't already.

There is still 3 epps of TGA to air over summer at some stage.
The problem with TGA was Shayne and his stupid non funny jokes, and chan 9 and there crappy time slots. TG is a show that should be aired @ 7 or 7.30 on a Sunday not 9.30 on some random day of the week... |

Downloaded and watched TG USA. I thought it was pretty good. They are not taking themselves to seriously and each presenter has their own take on things. As good as TGUK? hell no but TG UK is in short supply....
