All the other crap you have to pay for is the markup that Oz distributors put on this stuff because they have to inventory it, stock it, warranty it, and make a profit. In short, if you can be bothered doing the research and buying yourself from the original supplier, yes you are better off. Just remember though, if it breaks the warranty stops at the USA border. Anyone who wants to buy parts for a late model Windsor is crazy if they don't just crack open the catalog (thanks for the link xr8ute), pick off what they want, and make their credit card go a little light headed. I also reiterate my previous point. I have a guy that can do me Ford parts at cost plus 10%. Some of the Motorsport stuff is excluded but by all means, give me a list of part numbers (as stated in the catalog and I will forward to him for a price and availablility quote... XHII V8S - yes, same motor. Minor variations here and there and other than the throttle linkage requiring relocation on the TB, it all works exactly the same. Must do, that's where Ford Oz got their parts from... My $0.02 Oz |

hey guys.i want to know what you guys reckon about Ford Racing parts compared to the Aussie aftermarket as i am looking at doing a 5.0l project later on next year. According to the catalogue, Ford Racing parts seem quite good but when you look at cars like the EB GT etc they didnt perform too well and even Ford went aftermarket for the T3. Has anyone got any 1/4 mile times for a mostly Ford Racing built engine?

I think the reason Ford went with Australian aftermarket for the T3 was purely from a $$$ point due to importing costs from the states, which now is freed up with the "Free Trade Agreement" between the US and Aust. |
