Good ad. Saw it on Top Gear last night.

p.s. the Focus RS is a rocket. It would fit into the Aus lineup nicely at around Golf R20/STI money.

I agree, CGI just make it look cheap IMO. HSV has done the same thing with their add.

Its the same with their wallpapers on their website, cant they use real cars like they did from BA-BF.

Maybe CGI is a loophole in terms of being restricted in what they can show an actual car doing. Anyone remember the BMW Z4 ad that got banned? I don't know for sure, but maybe since CGI is just an animation, it gets around the regulations.

I haven't seen the new ad, but if they are going at high speeds like the old one then CGI may have been neccessary. If not, then why not use the real cars?!

Cant comment on the ad yet, but have you seen the E2 GTS ad? That is the poorest attempt at a car ad ive ever seen in my life, it really cheapens the car IMO

The HSV commercial can be found by following the link below:

http://www.hsv.com.au/hsv/multimedia/

HSV have stuck to the Men In Black theme of the teasers, IMO it doesn't work well.

As per usual, FPV haven't updated their site with their new commercial yet.

It really goes against their European rival claim IMO.

Its the small things isn't it, I know its not crucial to winning sales but when things are really not that hard to do you have to wonder.

I reckon the HSV site is much better and interesting with heaps more stuff than FPV's, as usuall Not as much effort put into it I don;t think.

I've been trying to embed the actual flv file into the post, but can't... so it's a direct link to my photobucket file.

The ad plays regularly on foxtels discovery channel during the bike and car shows. I think its a well executed spot, clearly the GS is the focus here.

good job FPV

For all the people asking why they use cgi for these types of ads, the reason is plain and simple.....its cheaper than doing an actual shoot, much much cheaper.
How do I know ? I work in the VFX industry.
In the case of HSV using cgi on their website, this is likely because they want a consistency in their advertising campaign.

I thought the ad resemble something like a hotwheels ad or something petrol heads could get for their kids christmas stocking from Mattel, very poor in my opinion.

It does seem a bit toyworld-ish, still, better than fingers walking through the hills.

Yeah, it's a favorite. I'd love them to do one around the Phase IV & the Supercar Scare; it would be a real winner.

They could apologise for not releasing it (the XA Phase IV), while unveiling its successor.

If im not mistaken, this add was for BA Mk1, so it was before the F6 came out.
