Default Another example of good product, no awareness...

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum....cfm?t=1979473

crazy, drove the car, loved it enough to want to buy one, spent hours on Google trying to find what it was (dunno why he didn't check the badge ) but due to Fords crappy marketing he'd apparently never known it existed.

Wonder how many other people have only discovered the Falcon because of one they had as a hire car..

Why not just call the hire company or look at their website.

Yeah I dunno all seems a bit strange.
Depending on the hire company though all the website might say is "Large car $90/day - Holden Commodore equivalent" or something.

Wow after search for a few nights, It took 3 minutes on Whirlpool.

All he had to do was to read the badge on the front of the car in his
own photo and then google "Ford" au. Either he don't know much about
cars or the internet.... or it's a wind up!

I think the issue was more the fact that it doesnt say Falcon anywhere on the car. Probably didnt realise it was based on the falcon etc

Yeah that was a weird move from Ford to remove the Falcon badge. Unless they're planning on selling the same car with a different badge down the track?

I think with the more high end falcons they are following Holden, with the Berlina and Calais.

IMO they are trying to make these cars have their own status. A falcon is known as a bogan car. While a G6 if the luxury and marketed at the more family type of car.

Example Holden Berlina is not known as a Holden Commodore Berlina, it is just a Holden Berlina.

Don't get me started on the rediculous "G6 and G6E" name plate which means, literally, bugger all to most people.

I still find myself calling ours a Fairmont Ghia sometimes...tell most people you drive a G6E and you have to start explaining what it is you own. Everyone knows the old Fairmont and Fairmont Ghia name plate...it used to mean something.
