Default Family car between 10-15k?

Were are looking to upgrade our 98 liberty wagon that has been very good to us, its just getting a bit tired and a bit small with 2nd offspring on the way. Immediatly i thought fg xt which the wife likes but just want to make sure im not overlooking anything obvious.

No camrys
Magnas
Commodores
380s

Small suv is good but most decent ones are out of our budget. Want 2005 onwards.

Any suggestions appreciated.

still a few low k henry wagons on the bbq fuel for a fair price, a lot of them are ex tradies, but still are cheap safe late model cars.
i like this one, engine bay looks like it`s not done much hard work.

Another vote for an FG. Good safe, modern and reliable motoring at an attractive price.

Go buy a 2nd hand Falcon or 2nd hand Territory. It's not advice you're after, it's approval.

BF Fairmont Ghia's are nice too. Easy to find a good example in that price range too.

One of these would be my pick -

08 wagon

Nice colour

Put either one on injected LPG and you're on a winner I reckon. The blue one looks like it has done highway kms going by the state of the front bar but you could have LPG fitted and respray the front bar and still come in under budget.

I've got 2 kids and our dual fuel AUII wagon has done over 300k now and still going strong and can go from Port Lincoln to Sydney, fully loaded for $300 or less on LPG and the extra space is a god send. You won't find a better value way to cart the tribe any distance than a Falcon wagon on gas.

I would go a bf wagon or fg on E-gas, (ecolpi still pretty expensive) you can get well maintained ex government ones fairly cheap, just have to look for what extras they have that suit you.

Agreed!

Will be looking for a replacement for my wagon next year I think. Really want a SY Territory Ghia or TS on LPG, but may need to go for a BFII Futura wagon.

I'd be more than happy with either.

Bought an 06/2010 FG XT ZF ex-rental in pretty good nick.
It had 53,000km on it ... and got it for just under $17K through a dealer with new car warranty.

As mentioned ... for such a new vehicle you'd be hard pressed to find something this good quality for the price really ... and there's a lot of them on the market as well.

I have a link in my signature to it.

If it is SUV ... I love my Territory .... have had it since new and it 8 years old now ... a few niggly things ... but awesome visibility, driveability, room, handling, comfort.
