Mmm,
By way of asking - at the back, right hand side, is there a little SINGLE red light? * Rear fog light. Specified on the basis of Occupational Health and Safety to all NSWFB fire-fighting vehicles and should begin to appear on RFS units (RFS=Rural Fire Service for you interstate foreign type, its not CFA here in NSW-Australia's leading state) as older units are retired. Cooranbongs recent delivery has one. Capable of outshing in bushfire smoke the flashing units at the top despite wattage difference in favour of the flasher, a trick here. One nag for driver's when driving in heavy smoke, switch on your low beam (or front fogs) and if you have a bloody rear fog - use it so your not rear-ended by the blind and otherwise inattentive souls. We cannot hear your approaching motor above the roar of a fire! PS - One of your driving lights are out OR you have it set to flash L-R? Q. - Do you see any need to mandate for RFS front fog lights in vehicle specification per NSWFB?

Keepleft - that is a Moama unit, it is on your side of the Murray! Looks like the driving lights are set on a diagonal strobe with the red & blues above.
Good on you for getting into it Philbie, hopefully you will never have to put the skills to use. PS joining CFA is a good way to get a cheap truck driver's licence... |

My wife works for the army and I was at an "event" with them a couple of weeks ago and they had one of those BushMaster trucks there .. which the guy said they've sold a few to SA for firefighting. Vic won't buy them though, supposedly 'cos the give fire-fighters a false sense of security or something?
Now a BushMaster firetruck ... *THAT* would be really interesting!!! |

I was a member of the RFS in the Hunter Valley of 11 yrs before i moved up to QLD.
I loved it and actually miss it.( Bloody Brisbane no RFS units anywhere around here). The trucks are really FUN to drive under Lights and Sirens... Hey Philbie... Where is Moama. What area is it .

I've been doing it for 8 years in good ol' wagga. It going to be a shocker here today, 34 already with 42 the forecast today and 41 with thunderstorms tomorrow. nightmare weather! Let all hope we can have a quite new years (touches wood and hopes haven't jinx self)  :
