I was pulling out of the Red Rooster drive thru in town when i saw what looked to be a black Holden Statesman with Chevrolet badges, and stockies... but it was actually a Left hand drive model e dressed up with Chevy bits which looked to be off the CTS (the gill etc) Then right behind it was a LHD VF commodore but in Chevrolet spec
The black car just ahead of this one is the Chevrolet spec Statesman Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a picture of the black car, as I think one of them saw me taking my happy snaps and they gunned it!!!

They probably weren't LHD Holdens. They were probably Chevy SS prototypes. Or simply GCC Chevys.

each too their own. I think some people go on about Holden as if it was the only car company but people could say the same thing about Ford too.. I don't mind seeing it. just wish the media wouldn't over glorify every commodore that comes out sometimes.

Yes I find them interesting also. Personally I don't care for Holdens, but I don't get why people place Chev Badges on them when they are HOLDENS!! Hey do what you want to your car but yeah this Bugs me for some reason.... ITS A HOLDEN NOT A CHEV!!!!

its because the same V8 is in Chevrolets so by that logic it must be a Chevrolet!! funny thing is the motor has nothing in common with Chevrolet V8s. Its a GM crate motor. it annoys me too. annoys me too the point I want too put a Nissan badge on a VL and watch the commodore boys ask me why

I think the issue some have ( including me) is that there seems to be more Holden threads than ford threads being started lately on a Ford forum. having the occasionally news worthy item is fine but when we are getting inundated by Holden thread it gets a bit much
If I wanted to be bombarded by Holden propaganda I would join a Holden forum, funny thing is it seems to be the same members that start these threads and prise the Holden products to be honest I have serious doubts about the true intentions and loyalty of some members. the one good part of this forum is the ability to express views outside the main aim of the forum ( the support of the ford product) but I do feel this is abused by some. try what goes on here on a Holden forum and see how far you get Quote:

People were doing it in the 70's and 80's too, when they would put Chev motors in Holdens. All the same company. Maybe if Ford had a bigger portfolio of brands, or hadnt killed off Mercurey, Ford fans might do the same. |

Maybe Ford Forums needs a Holden sub category?

Not trying to justify Chev badges on Holdens, I still think it's ridiculous. |
