I try to get to as many farm clearance auctions as I can...unfortunately my job doesn't have many weekends off that line up with them so I don't get to as many as I like.

My nephew went to one back in the late 1990's, a deceased estate auction on a big old farm, and when walking around during the "pre-auction viewing", he saw piles of the usual stuff...old tractors, pumps, farm machinery, etc.
Then he saw, in a shed under a sheet, an XD Falcon. He asked the auctioneer about it, and he said yes, it was for sale, and he could have a look. My nephew managed to control himself after looking it over, and asked if he could make an offer. The auctioneer said yes, offers would be accepted and sales allowed before the auction...the family was pretty desperate to get rid of everything.
He got it for $3500 after his first low-ball offer being accepted, to his surprise.

It was a bright yellow XD S-Pack, 351 Clevo, four speed, I think a 9" diff, four wheel discs, factory air and power steer, Volante alloy wheels, cloth interior, sports dash, the lot.
My fricking nephew sold it a year or so later for $10,000. Bastard.
