I’m just saying that whilst we have a couple of years to plan our “final” Falcon purchases, we should not assume that every variant will be available until the end, nor indeed that it will be Falcon and not a Territory to close the doors.

There's nothing wrong with the engine or the car, its a good thing, just the way Ford management sabotaged it by not doing an ounce of promotion or marketing for it, and the fact it has sold two fifths of stuff all as a result.

Your post asks two good points, given the low volume of Falcon sales:
1) Does Ford need to produce all the models it currently does or just the most popular ones?
2) Is there a chance that 2014 Territory builds will be increased and 2014 Falcon builds reduced?

As an absolute spoiler, I'd offer XT at $29,990 drive away just to test the market...

There is a possibility Ford will start reducing the variants of the Falcon over the coming years as they did with the last of the wagons.

Wish I could have helped out Ford Australia and bought a brand new car from them, I was expecting my next car to be, but not in that timeframe unfortunately.
It'd be awesome to see them go all out and do something extraordinary for the last series, I'm too young to have been there for the first Falcons, but am looking forward to something really great to finish the saga.

Well, just over 60% of those 717 Falcon sales last month were V8 and I6T variants, as you are aware. I'm betting there is a fair amount of profit on those models, they could can all the "pedestrian" models bar the n/a XR6 and still sell every one they build.

I should add I was chasing an manual XR6 Turbo Ute. I will almost definitely be picking up a GS/GT when Octane returns later this year. Don't think for a second I dislike Falcon. If RTV was released tomorrow I'd have one tomorrow night. Failing that....

It's a shape Ford have already raped the Cobra name (like they did with GT) because it would be awesone to a run of Cobras for the last 500 Facons built.

Maybe other Ford names can be dug out of archive for the 2016 built Falcons?
Shame we don't have coupe, Goss, Landau, etc woulf be awesome.
In saying that Cobra were most recently released as a 4 door, so maybe these can be too!

I just bought myself an FG XR6, my third Falcon - I couldn't afford to buy brand new unfortunately. But wow, what a cracker of a car! Currently getting 9.7 l/100km, jet smooth and whisper quiet... and bloody quick!! The ZF is a little weird and the seats are a bit squidgy but other than that, I'm loving it. I will definitely be updating with a brand newey in the next three years, finances permitting.

Nowhere. However these V8 engines are Australian designs based on existing US engines. The I6 is all Australian. Why part of this are people not able to understand?

Orders have increased by about 100%, so there is definately people coming out of the woodwork. How long that lasts for is anyone's guess though.

And they are already looking at SVP's for FPV vehicles.

Awesome news mate!

Just spoke to a dealer, looks like I'll be going ahead with an FPV GS Ute in Octane come September. The Ranger sure is a nice truck, I'm just not ready for a 4x4 daily hack!

That's good to hear. To little too late though. Our orders haven't changed.

If you work at the factory, you only see "orders" yeh? Not actual contracted sold vehicles? Maybe dealers are gearing up, hoping for a boom. Who knows.

The factory will only build what its scheduled to, it might add sales over the next few months but sales won't increase much, it will probably just mean less down days this quarter. But that also depends how long this rush continues for, I don't expect it to last too long.

No, its people who have come in and ordered a car, not dealers building up stock.

How about another Allan Moffat special. It's been a while! Probably even more overdue is a Ford recognised 'Dick Johnson LE'. I'd order one tomorrow if this happened!

What's the breakdown of the builds? I.E. are they turbo 6's, n/a 6's etc

I recon some keenly priced XRs are responsible,
Sedans: XR6 - $33,990 drive away and XR6T - $39,490 Drive away
Utes: XR6 - $30,490 drive away and XR6T - $35,490 Drive away

Well when I was kid in my very early teens, when the XY GT came out I promised myself that one day would own one. Well I sort of achieved that with a fully restored tribute.

My next goal was always to own an original GT which i also achieved last year by buying a 335 SC, one drive of my friends one had me hook, line and sinker. These cars will never (hopefully) leave my ownership.

I have also owned two XR6 Turbo's, a BA an FG loved both amongst many others that I have owned. Special mention to my 351 XD Fairmont Ghia in gunmetal grey, sorry to see that one go, home and family had to come first back then.

Actually if you look at my avatar closely you can see a bit of both of the XY and SC GT.
